The Socket-939 FX51 is merely an underclocked FX53; I included it so Socket-940 FX51 owners could have a reference point.
As far as the three flavors of Athlon 64s, what I meant by that statement was that there are Socket-754 Athlon 64s, Socket-939 Athlon 64s and Athlon 64 FXs (which are both Socket-939 and 940 as you mentioned).
Sorry. There's one more thing on that article that is incorrect.
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?... Page 5 says "That being said, with three different flavors of Athlon 64s (Socket-754, Socket-939 and FX)"
Well, that's not entirely true either. What happened Anand? Not enough sleep while you were writing this article?
The 3 "flavors" of the Athlon 64 are 754 pin, 939 pin and the 940 pin. Keep in mind that the 939 pin can support normal athlon 64's and the FX's (Fx-53 at the moment) also. Also remember that the 940 flavor can be either an athlon fx or an opteron. The 939 and 940 pins are your dual channel capable platforms; 754 is single channel.
Anand, there is a mistake in your latest Doom 3 Article (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?... On the first test on page 5, you state that you used "a Socket-939 Athlon 64 FX-51 (2.2GHz/1MB L2)" when in fact there is no such thing. There is, however, a socket 940 FX-51, but no S939 FX-51 (at least to my knowledge).
Yeah, I agree with #10. Let's have an article on AnandTech's personalities and their familes, which will include you and your future wife. It would add a great appeal of personalism to the site and it would be good for a little change.
Congratulations for a good decision. Wish you all the best for your wedding. Got married just last weekend and the one piece of advice I want to give you is: Don't despair if something (or lots of different somethings) go wrong - it's bound to happen (at least when you get married the first time :c) )
Can we expect to see some honeymoon and wedding pics?

Once iD releases Doom 3 for MacOS X, you need to test it on your G5. And then not publish the numbers! That would be cruel, hehe.Anonymous - Tuesday, August 3, 2004 - link
