Microsoft Surface with capacitive buttons, thicker bottom bezel for ergonomics, sensor packaging: That's just stoopid! Micro$soft cant build a tablet to save their life! Asus phone with capacitive buttons, thicker bottom bezel for ergonomics, sensor packaging: That's just stoopid! ASUS cant build a phone to save their life!
Almost EVERY IPAD/Iphone: OMG APPLE IS AMAZING!!! THEY THINK OF EVERYTHING!!! THEY"RE GENIUSES!
Meanwhile on new phones with centered screens, app offsets up to accommodate on screen virtual buttons...<facepalm>
Have to agree on the brushed metal. Outdated perhaps, but still looks just as good to me as when it was the new fad. I'm undecided on the off-centered display. Lack of proper alignment tends to bug me, but I'd have to use the device to know for sure.
I would love to know who Asus is paying to get this market research from, because I wanna bid on that contract for "making up shit and getting paid for it". "Smartphones for gamers and power users", what a load of trash... nobody who is actually a gamer or power user wants a better smartphone because smartphones are shit, they will always be shit, and we all know this which is why we're using more powerful and better devices that are actually suited to task.
I'm impressed Asus is going all-in on the ROG phone strategy, and I hope they succeed. It's the only phone that's caught my interest in the last ~2 years, and I'm not even a heavy gamer. I just appreciate the big battery, enhanced cooling, front stereo speakers, notchless AMOLED screen, headphone jack, and other fundamentals it's got beneath the more-esoteric gaming features. Whereas other phonemakers keep charging more money for form-over-function, here's a phone charging more money for more function, and I respect that. I want more of that ethos, and fewer uninspired iClones.

Yeah those brushed metal phones had outdated designs before they were even released.sonny73n - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
And the off-centered display is another idiotic design. I hate it especially in landscape mode.Manch - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
I don't mind it. Hand doesn't cover the screen when palming it with my off hand. I like the brushed metal look. Its a clean design. To each his own.Opencg - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
Lol yes this is why i hate the infinity screen phones. No way to hold the damn thing without selecting something.Manch - Monday, December 17, 2018 - link

I hope not, I love ASUS motherboards and Graphics Cards.Manch - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
Me too. I have a couple ASUS MB, LAN cards, Wifi, etc. If the Quality goes down the shitter though, I'll shop elsewhere.Opencg - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
Yeah asus has made some of the best monitors as well. Always sucks when a company goes downhill and it usually starts with something like this.BurntMyBacon - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
Very real possibility. Hopefully they can avoid this eventuality.The_Assimilator - Friday, December 14, 2018 - link
